My First hyper realistic drawing
I really appreciate your tutorial. I learned so much from it! ❤️ I was getting a little bored of doing basic drawings, so I decided to directly challenge myself with a portrait. I know jumping straight into hyper-realism probably wasn’t the best idea 😅, but I thought that even if I could recreate 40% of your artwork, I would still be really happy. This is my first attempt, so I know there are many things I need to improve. Please guide me and let me know where I can do better. I’d really appreciate your feedback. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and making such helpful tutorials! 🙏✨

Wow, how did you do that on your first attempt? It’s amazing! Can you just tell me, did you follow the tutorial, or did you make it from the reference?

Akanksha, this is a wonderful first attempt, and I would never have guessed it was your first portrait. You went from basic drawings straight into a portrait and came out the other side with something real. That took nerve.
And I want you to hear this part properly. You already have the hardest thing working, your values. The light and shadow on the face read clearly, the features sit where they should, and the whole thing holds together as a face. That is the core of a portrait, and yours is doing it.
So please do not be modest about this one. You got well past 40 percent.
If you want one small thing for your next one, keep your early layers light and build the darks slowly. That will give you smoother skin and bring you closer to the realism you are chasing.
