Heike, this is such a beautiful pastel drawing of Luna! You’ve captured her expression so wonderfully. Her eyes have such a gentle, bright look, and there’s a lovely softness in her face that makes her personality really come through. She looks happy, calm, and very loved.

The pastel work gives the whole portrait a warm and gentle feeling. I especially like the soft blending in the fur and the way you’ve kept the details around her face clear without making them look harsh. That balance is not easy to achieve with pastels, but you’ve handled it beautifully. The subtle changes in value help give Luna’s face form, while the softer edges keep the drawing feeling natural and tender.

This is more than just a well-drawn pet portrait. It feels personal, and you can see the care you put into it. I’m not surprised your friend is so happy with the result. You should be very proud of this one, Heike. It’s a lovely tribute to Luna and a really thoughtful gift. 🥰
