Little boat on the shore......
I wanted a change of pace, so I drew this little boat resting on the shore of an island. It’s not my best drawing, but it was a welcome break from more challenging subjects—and especially from the three-point perspective course that’s been driving me crazy lately! 😅
Sometimes it’s nice to step away from difficult exercises and simply enjoy drawing something peaceful for a while.

@annejoke Ik volg de cursus. Maar teken daarnaast zoveel mogelijk van alles en nog wat. Ben pas enkele maanden begonnen met tekenen. Vandaar dat ik nog zoveel te leren heb en zoveel fouten maak wanneer het iets technischer wordt. Ik probeer van alles en som draait het goed en mooi uit en soms helemaal niet. Ik ben van Belgie. Nederlands is niet mijn moedertaal maar kan wat schrijven en praten. Leuk om je te ontmoeten hier op de forum van AHR. Vriendelijke groeten Frederic

Frederic, this is exactly why it’s good to take a break from difficult studies now and then. 😊
There’s a calmness to this drawing that I really like. The boat immediately draws the viewer in, and the reflections on the water help create a peaceful atmosphere. The shoreline textures also add a nice sense of place.
And for what it’s worth, I think the perspective course is helping more than you realize. The boat feels solid and believable, which is never an accident. I’d be happy if you shared the reference image as well. I may have to give this one a try myself someday. 👍1-

You definitely made it your own. The original reference has a nice atmosphere, but I actually prefer the angle you chose for the boat. It feels more dynamic and pulls the viewer into the scene much more effectively. Those little artistic decisions are what transform a study into your interpretation rather than just a copy. Thank you for sharing the reference. Now I’m even more impressed with how much you adapted while keeping the peaceful mood of the original. 👍
