Hi Rickie
Those are very good drawings, especially for just starting. I am a retired building contractor and I started learning to draw about 6 months ago. I am amazed at how fast I have learned to use the tools and supplies needed to produce drawings I am proud of.
Ali has created and provided excellent progressive instructions on how to develop your artistic skills with a good strong foundation.
If you haven’t already, I would suggest starting at the very beginning of the “Pencil drawing masterclass” found in the “Academy”. Every lesson prepares you for the next one. You will progressively become very good at drawing. It is a fun adventure.👍

@larry thanks Larry i have started course and enjoying it too think i am up to space the octopuses not yet done this just had a look and will complete when i have time .
i am electrician was a chef for 30 years then i lost my wife to cancer and trained to be sparky been doing that for 10 years now and ready to retire !!! have just dropped down to 4 day week so have a little more time to draw the images shown are over possibly 2years and i can see some improvement’s that i can make since starting course thank you for comments,

These are very good starting drawings, Rickie. You already have a nice sense of form and observation, especially for someone who has just begun the course. The little dog is definitely my favorite, it has a lot of character and charm. Keep practicing! 👍

@SEDITH thanks dog is my daughters dog and he is lovely that was my first colour pencil drawing .
after completing course may try again see if i can improve it (hopefully i can) .

Rickie, this is a great start! 😊You’ve already explored a nice variety of subjects, from portraits to animals, and that’s one of the best ways to learn. Since you’ve just started the course, focus on the fundamentals and don’t worry too much about perfection yet. Keep practicing consistently, and I think you’ll be surprised by how much your work improves over the next few months. Looking forward to seeing your progress!
