• Cherry

I think the cherry is not dark enough compared to the reference.

      • Hoi Cheryl, inderdaad, je kers ziet er heel echt uit maar de kleur is idd wat flets, dat kan zo opgelost worden toch😋

        • @annejoke thanks! I’m not sure if it can be fixed easily! I tried but can’t seem to make it darker, maybe just more black but I’m worried I would put too much black

        • Wacht even af wat Ali ervan zegt!

Cheryl, the roundness and form on these cherries is already working nicely, and those stems have a great natural curve. So don’t stress too much about the value match just yet. The structure reads well and that’s the harder part.

If you do want to push the darkness, try layering a dark red or burgundy first, then use black only in the very deepest spots. Black on its own can flatten the color, but building dark red underneath keeps the richness. A firm burnish at the end can push the value down even more without needing extra layers.

            • @alihaiderrehman thanks. I ordered some blender and burnisher, since I saw them in a lot of the tutorials. It looks like it will make a huge difference!

@cheryl Cheryl! They really can make a big difference, especially for smooth blending and controlled highlights. I’m excited for you to try them!

            • Hi Cheryl
Very nice cherry. Are you going to draw another cherry and post the two together?

              • @larry yes, but not immediately. I like trying different things😂
I drew a rose in the last few days then I’ve just started on a peacook
Also waiting for my new blender and burnisher set 🙂
