Hello guys , I have a problem figuring out where exactly to place my light, mid, and dark tones when shading. How can I learn this, or how do I identify it correctly?

Right now I’m using pencils ranging from 8B to 14B, but I’m not really getting the results I want. I’d really appreciate any tips.

      @martinhermann2 i can say ,some charcoal ,some black pencil (like stadler black luminus ) and graphite to get tonal values.iam also learning.
