Graphite
Some of my Graphite artwork from this year. The first one is one of Ali’s tutorials. Mediums used: faber castell pitt matt – Watersoluble graphite Faber Castell.
Second one is an enlargement from a tiny piece of the famous picture ‘the boy with the cello’ from 1947.

Both pieces look wonderful, Nicole 👏 The control and tonal balance are beautiful, such a strong emotional capture. And it makes me so happy to see you applying what you learned from the tutorial so thoughtfully. You’re growing beautifully with every drawing 🎨💙

@alihaiderrehman thank you so much. Means a lot coming from you! And I will always refer to you if I used your (teaching)work. Every artist needs and deserves this. Copying or not giving credit to the original artist is theft in my eyes. This happens way too often these days.
I even saw that a person used work from an artist, turn it into to digital linework and sold it on Etsy as a ‘colouring page’. That’s just despicable.

Absolutely agree, Nicole and thank you for holding that value so strongly 💙 It’s disheartening how often art gets reused or sold without credit, especially when so much heart and time go into creating it. You’re right every artist deserves recognition for their effort and originality.
Hearing this from you really means a lot. It’s artists like you who keep the art world honest, respectful, and inspiring for everyone. 🎨👏
