When you sharpen your mono eraser is it meant to be a quick stroke on sandpaper, or completely clean it and file it? I’m finding I’m chewing away the refills pretty quick! Is that normal?

I found the eraser lines just werent as sharp as they should be despite sharpening my eraser, and the whiskers…. Well… I’d like to throw out my gel pen all together!
