Graphite library drawings.
@alihaiderrehman told me earlier on that this intermediate drawing wasn’t that difficult, even for a beginner so I gived it a shot. I already did the pencil sketch and will from there on build following Ali’s tutorial. A challenge for a novice drawing artist. We will see how it turns out and I will post the end result. I already did a similar exercise within the beginners drawing library. ( Face with butterfly) Please comment and criticize for my own sake and development. Brgrds to the community.

Take it in stages, and slowly, do most of your work with a brush, easy to erase and get the correct tonal values. Blending is the key to get rid of the harsh lines, but it takes practice, the more you do, the more you see. Write down what you do. For me, stage 1 outline (With as much info as possible), stage 2 brush work on the complete picture, pencils on dark areas, stage 3 eraser work and blending, I repeat stages 2 & 3, finals stage details and highlights. Take your time, light touch, really concentrate on all of the details, it’s not easy Frederic and remember we are all learning. Slow your work down considerably and you will see an immediate difference. Keep up the good work and keep posting your progress.

@Ron I misspelled your name in my latest posts. I apologize. I ment Ronald and not Roland. Because you were so kind to give me some valuable advise. I’m sorry. But I can’t edit them anymore seems……

I am new to drawing as well. But what Ronald has good sound advice! The blending will take out the hard outlines and make things look smoother. I need to practice this myself. Good start to the eye drawing.

Frederic, this is a great challenge to take on! 😊
Your outline is looking clean. The key here is to focus on one section at a time and not rush the darker values.
I look forward to seeing your progress and the final result. Keep sharing your updates, and the community will be happy to help along the way.1
