• HOT RED CHILLY for your salsa

This was my 2nd color pencil project after water bubbles and I shall admit that it looked easy in Ali Sir’s tutorial but taught me alot and took time as well.I was surprised myself to see the hyperrealism effect coming out like magic. Ali Sir, you are a gifted and talented teacher. Kindly critique my drawing and I shall work on the flaws. Truely blessed to be a part of you all wonderful people.😊

Reema, lovely work and you asked for the flaws so here is one worth chasing. Your darks are already strong, so the next step is the highlight. On the chilli you have a light band, but it is soft and slightly grey in places rather than the clean white of a shiny skin. Try this next time, mark the highlight shape very lightly at the start so you never colour over it, then build the reds around it and leave that spot almost bare. At the end, burnish it with a white pencil in small circles. That clean white is what sells the wet shine the pepper is famous for.
