Realistic Stag
Attempted the Stag from the reference packs. I think it definitely needs improvement. Let me know in comments what is missing. This is my second attempt at this. In the first attempt, I did not like the back antlers so much. Would really appreciate constructive feedback

Hoi Pratic, je hebt een hele goede poging gedaan, ik mis donkerte hierin, het is teveel een geheel, wat meer schaduw in de vacht laat het eruit springen!👍🏼

Pratik, the head and antlers are the good part, especially the antler shapes. The main thing that is missing is contrast. Right now most of your values sit in the middle range, so the stag and the background are almost the same tone and the fur blends into it. Pick your darkest areas, the under the jaw shadow and the shadow side of the neck, and take those fully dark with a 4B or 6B. Then leave the lit areas of the back and the top of the head completely alone. One small dark and one clean light is what makes the stag step forward off the paper. Well done for coming back to this one.
