For a first light and shadow experiment, this is solid. You’re clearly thinking about form, not just copying shapes. That’s a big step. Just deepen those contact shadows a little more and everything will feel more grounded.
You’re moving in the right direction. Keep showing up like this 🔥

I’m having some difficulty for a few reasons: first… I don’t speak English, so during the videos I have to use the translator, read the subtitles, watch Ali’s movements, and then reproduce the idea on paper. Second: I’ve never drawn in my life because I’ve had some problems. I have ADHD, diagnosed a month ago, and that complicates everything a bit. Drawing helps me maintain focus and find interest in repetitive activities. I’ve discovered that I really enjoy drawing, and I have to force myself to keep my eye on the details and not get distracted. It’s a difficult challenge in my life, especially now that I’m 48. I was very lucky to end up in this group and with this teacher. P.S.: ADHD is a strange “beast”… I lived without realizing I had it and I thought things were normal that weren’t. Be patient with anyone who tells you they have ADHD. 😅1-
