Started drawing again recently after nearly 20 years
My 1st attempts since I picked my pencils back up recently. Hoping to develop my art and learn new techniques. It’s nice to see other people’s art so thanks everyone, you helped me get my passion back 👊

Gavin, three completely different subjects and you handled all three like someone who never actually put the pencil down. The portrait of the woman is the one I kept going back to. The softness around her cheek and the way the light sits on her forehead, that is not beginner work. The big cat has real weight in the face, the dark spot clusters are sitting in the fur instead of on top of it, and the eyes look out at you. And the old man, that beard and those deep lines around his eyes, you let them go properly dark instead of being shy with the pencil. For somebody picking the pencils back up, this is a strong return. Welcome back, Gavin, and welcome here.

Cheers Rickie, there’s always someone better mate. I stopped for years because l got focused on judging myself against others. What I’d forgotten was the enjoyment it gave me. Focus on your own journey and you’ll be amazed at what you are capable of bruv. 😉👍
