Kim, you are absolutely on the right path.
The water droplets are very convincing, and the eyes immediately grab attention. I also like how you’ve pushed the contrast, which gives the portrait a strong sense of depth and drama.

Looking at your first posted drawing and then looking at your final portrait project, the improvement is incredible. You’ve gone from simple line work to controlling values, textures, realism, and even complex effects like water droplets. Keep that first sketch safe. It’s a wonderful reminder of where you started and proof of what consistent practice can achieve. I’m proud of how far you’ve come. ❤️
