I’m struggling
Im struggling with using the perfection eraser for any fine erasing. I pretty much had to do all of my erasing with this using my electric eraser. Im sure theres a good tutorial on what im missing somewhere in here?

Mono zero eraser is better for fine hard erasing and perfection eraser is better for soft erasing. There is indeed at least one tutorial here about this, I forgot which one. I’ll post here if I can find it.

Hey Travis, you’re not missing anything weird, the perfection eraser is genuinely one of the trickiest tools to control. The fact that you already adapted and used the electric eraser where it worked shows good instinct.
Here’s the trick that changed it for me: treat the perfection eraser like a pencil, not a rubber. Hold it near the tip, use a fresh sharp edge, and work with very light strokes that lift the graphite without pressing into the paper. Rub the tip on scrap paper every few strokes, because a loaded eraser just smears instead of erasing. Once you feel it pull those thin clean lines, fine erasing becomes easy.
And Cheryl’s spot on about the tools, they do different jobs: the Mono Zero for fine hard erasing, the perfection eraser for softer lifts. If you want to see it in action, watch the [HAIR Drawing Technique (2025) lesson](https://academy.ahrstudios.com/realtime-tutorials/190/) inside the Harry Styles portrait tutorial, that’s where I use the fine eraser the most.
Keep going, you’re doing great. 😊

@alihaiderrehman thank you so much! Also thanks for all the tutorials! I feel like I’ve already learned so much in a very short period of time.
