It’s finally finished. I just can’t seem to get the black I want 😅 Even graphite powder isn’t black enough.

Well done Mehmet. For a darker black try “Primo Elite Grande organic black #5000” pencils. I have found them to be the blackest so far.

This is amazing Mehmet 👏 The likeness is really strong and instantly recognizable, which is a big achievement. The way you handled the facial structure, especially around the eyes, nose, and beard, shows a solid understanding of form. The textures in the beard and skin are very well observed, and your transitions are smooth, which gives the portrait a natural and realistic feel. The background also helps bring the subject forward nicely.
About the black, you’re absolutely right, graphite will never give a true deep matte black because of its reflective nature. You can push it further with layering, compression, and using softer grades, but it will always have a slight shine. Even then, what you’ve achieved here already looks very strong and visually convincing.
Overall, this is a fantastic piece and a big step forward in your progress. Keep going like this 👍🎨-
