Greetings Everybody! My graphite powder is not at all staying permanently on the paper after brush application. Everthing is so silky smooth. Feels as if this commercial graphite powder could be an issue because Ali Sir’s video has him scraping his 8B pencil over a scraper and usind the dust with a brush. I finally used my finger to get till…

Try the flat type makeup brush, like the one in the videos. Also maybe the paper is too smooth and can’t hold much graphite

Might be due a low quality paper
-
Little results with poor quality paper and the best results with premium quality paper
-
Reema, this is a really common frustration and the good news is it’s almost never your technique. The fact that you got a smooth background with your finger already shows you see what’s needed. Once the scraper arrives, you’ll get a much better feel for it.
Here’s the main thing I’d check first: the paper’s tooth. If the paper is too smooth,… Read more

The eye looks amazing, especially the amount of detail you’ve put into the iris, eyelashes, and the textures around the eye. You should definitely keep going you… Read more

Hi Emily. This is a good start. I have found that if I draw the same subject a second time I can see a definite improvement in a very short amount of time.😊

Practicing various types of textures is very challenging and fun 😄

Great work, Frenky! You’ve explored the textures with lots of patience. As you continue, try keeping the darkest accents only in the deepest grooves or overlaps. That will help each surface feel even more dimensional.

Hey everyone! Quick update from us 🎉
So… we moved! AHR Studios has a new home now
Honestly, the move took way longer than we thought it would. It’s been a bit of a mess, boxes everywhere, and we’re still not fully settled. I did my best to reply to everyone in the middle of all that, but if I missed you, I’m sorry. Please forgive me, and I promise I’ll get back to you.

Hello Community. Heres my 1st skill test finished with the Eye & the 1st 2Pt. Perspective Activity. Any feedback would be grealy appreciated. I appreciate the warm welcome on my previous post. To Ali; Thank you for being a great teacher. Im learning a tremendous amount here. Thank You!
-
Justin, great work on your first skill test! You’ve made a really strong start with the eye drawing and the perspective exercise.
With the eye, keep checking the overall shape of the opening before adding darker details. The upper eyelid usually creates the strongest shadow, so building that value gradually can give the eye more depth. Also pay… Read more

Für eine Freundin habe ich ihre kleine Luna gezeichnet als Pastellzeichnung. Hat viel Spaß gemacht und sie ist super happy damit. 🥰

Heike, this is such a beautiful pastel drawing of Luna! You’ve captured her expression so wonderfully. Her eyes have such a gentle, bright look, and there’s a lovely softness in her face that makes her personality really come through. She looks happy, calm, and very loved.
The pastel work gives the whole portrait a warm and gentle feeling. I… Read more

This is my first intermediate level drawing and it took a very long time. But my son loves harry potter and wanted me to draw this 😂
I’ll be going back to finish all the beginners after this

Cheryl, this is amazing work, especially for your first intermediate drawing! Spending that long on it has clearly paid off, and it’s lovely that your son chose Harry Potter as the subject. I’m also glad the affordable Daler-Rowney paper worked so well for you. Justin, I think LeBron James will be a great future project, and Frenky, I’m… Read more

Studio Community 8 weeks agoWould love some thoughts and advice on this project. I can get my work to around 70% of the reference image. But i need to get it more realistic.
-
Looks great. I think it needs more contrast
1 -
Daniel, this is a really thoughtful piece of work, and 70% is much further than you may feel when you’re looking at it closely. The details are already doing a lot of the work. Now try stepping back from the drawing and checking it from a distance. Look for the areas where the reference has its deepest darks and compare those with your drawing.… Read more

Ja cheryl heeft gelijk het mist de donkerte, verder heel goed gedaan!

if i wasnt looking at the reference i would think thats bloody good
reference sort of makes it to light when compared and the left side hair may be a bit fuller saying that i love it👍
