This is my first attempt at drawing without using an eraser after watching the Landscape with Shapes video. Please share your feedback and suggest some tips to help me improve.

That looks good Muhammad. Time to move on to the next tutorial.👍

Welcome in, Muhammad. First go without an eraser and you kept the whole scene readable, that is a big step. That kind of confidence is what moves you fastest, so keep going and keep posting. Glad to have you here.

Heel goed gedaan Reema👌🏼🐾

Reema 😊 I keep coming back to his eyes. There is something so gentle and trusting in them, and the way you let the fur sit soft around his face just makes him feel loved. You can tell this one came from the heart. The challenging moments were worth it, because look at him. Beautiful work, and thank you for sharing him with us.

So i was thinking that i was done with this one. But now im noticing that the lense on the right side (his left side) seems shorter than it should.
Thoughts? Should i go back amd re-do thst part?

Hee Travis, ja ik zou dat wel aanpassen anders zou ik me er aan blijven ergeren! 🤷🏼♀️😅

I didn’t notice the lens being shorter until you said that. So I’d say the casual observer may not pick up on it. But I know what it feels like to have something like that nagging at you! Probably doesn’t “need” fixing but you could do it just for your own peace of mind. 😁 A lot of times I “fix” tiny things because I know it’ll bug me forever if…

Module 3 - Three Point Perspective
Here’s my take on Three Point Perspective Assignments.
I enjoyed making both the House and the Skyscraper. But I forgot to make Cubes on 3 point perspective 😅Pencils Used: Pro Art 6B, 3B, B and HB

Anim, well done 😊 The skyscraper especially looks strong, those converging verticals are not easy to get right and you kept them clean. Glad you enjoyed this one, it shows. larry and rickie said it too.
One thing to look at on the house. Where the roof meets the top of the walls, the two front corners should lean in toward each other slightly… Read more

Studio Community 4 weeks agoModule 3 - Two Point Perspective Practice Assignments
Here’s my attempt on Two Point Perspective Assignment, I found myself finishing it sooner than one point assignments and also I enjoyed doing it more since I didn’t go all in with using blending stumps. Pencil shading for the buildings and blending stumps for the Surface ground and for the Sky.
Used Pencils : Pro Art 6B, 3B, B and HB

Wow, your perspective drawings show a lot of effort! Awesome!

Anim, this one looks great 😊 The street reads clearly and I can tell you enjoyed it more, that ease shows in the drawing. The clean buildings against the soft ground is a nice contrast.

Studio Community 4 weeks agoModule 3 Assignments
One Point Perspective and it’s assignment was really challenging as I used Blending Stumps for the very 1st Time and I’m got my own doubts but this is what I was able to pull off

Anim, you pulled it off 😊 This is your first time with a stump and the corridor already reads clean and straight. Don’t be hard on it, first attempts are supposed to look like this.

Debra posted an update in the group
Studio Community 4 weeks agoI will get back to the lips eventually, but thought I would give this one a try. It was very different from the last one. Not sure about the realism though on my part…I think it looks good from a distance but not so much up close…

For the 1st try, it looks good to me.

Hi Debra
Your water droplets look so real. I feel that the veins in the leaf could be a little more pronounced.

Debra, this is lovely 😊 The water droplets are the star here, they genuinely look wet. And for a first try at a new subject, you did really well. Don’t be hard on it.

Studio Community 4 weeks agoBest paper
I have just started the course and wanted to ask about paper. I have tried a few different ones slightly textured to extra smooth and I cant seem to get my blacks deep enough. I dont want to start a project and find it never looks right and I have overwork it. Can anyone help and tell me what paper you use that you found worked for you.
-
I have found that the Canson Bristol Vellum works best for me so far, but still slightly lighter than I would like (and then there is the little bit of graininess to deal with). I also would be interested in hearing other people’s suggestions…

i have used all sorts of paper and still struggle with the darks getting in there and erasing i think some of it is because we are beginners and i think we need to try and be more patient when drawing and build layers to get to darker tones and erasing i think trial and error different erasers do different jobs maybe try and leave the…

you need to do many layers to build up the darker values. I’ve tried many paper and most are fine as long as they are thick enough, at least 150gsm. Smooth cartridge or bristol vellum are good but can be a bit pricy. You could also try “Staedtler Mars Lumograph Black”, they are a bit darker than other brands
-
Welcome to the course, John. Smart move asking about paper before you start a project.
Quick answers from the people above you. Debra’s Canson Bristol Vellum has enough tooth to actually hold graphite, which is why it goes darker than the extra smooth sheets you tried. Cheryl’s 150gsm rule is the one to remember, thick enough is most of… Read more

Studio Community 4 weeks agoStill life
I finished the still life! Here it is. I learned a lot from this one… mainly that achieving better contrast requires a lot of confidence. Mine is growing! But I feel like this is way better than I would have been able to do in the past. I struggled most with the butterfly, which is the part I’d want to improve…getting all those…
