I did my best. It’s very hard to capture the details and the correct tones. I drew back and forth using different pencils… I still need to work on my approach.
Best regards,
Martin

Hi Martin
You have a good start. Keep building layer by layer, building strong contrast.👍

Martin, first of all, sorry for the late reply, I was a bit busy with my wedding.
This is a challenging reference, so you’re on the right path working through it. Compared to your previous drawings, you have improved your skills a lot, especially in understanding structure and values.
To improve this further, focus more on separating your values clearly. Right now, many areas are sitting in similar mid tones, so try to push your darks deeper, especially in the helmet and shadow areas, to create stronger contrast.
Also, be careful with smudging. Some areas look a bit muddy, so try to keep your strokes more controlled and build values in layers instead of blending too early. For the skin, aim for smoother transitions, especially around the cheeks and nose.
Pay close attention to edges as well. Sharper edges around the eyes and helmet details will help bring more realism, while softer edges can stay in the skin areas.
You’re moving in the right direction, just keep refining your control and value range 👍-
@alihaiderrehman Thank you for your attentiveness. This was very hard for me to draw, especially as you mentioned, I struggle a lot with getting the different tones right, particularly making the dark tones truly dark. I’m doing my best.
Best regards,
Martin1
