Like a beginner glassblower’s first work...
A glass study made following a tutorial. Drawing glass, water, and reflections was a real exercise in patience 😊
Looking back at the drawing in a photo, I immediately noticed that the ellipse could be better. Another reminder of the golden rule: it’s always worth photographing your drawing, because mistakes become visible right away that you often don’t notice while working.
Every practice piece teaches something new.

Wow, Edit, this is absolutely beautiful. 😊
Drawing glass and water is one of the most challenging studies because it requires careful observation of reflections, distortions, and subtle value changes. You handled all of that incredibly well. The transparency, the water level, and especially the cast shadow look fantastic. And I love your mindset. Every drawing teaches us something new, and taking a photo to spot mistakes is one of the best habits an artist can develop. If I had not read your note, I honestly would not have paid much attention to the ellipse because the overall result is so strong. This is an outstanding practice piece and something you should be very proud of. 🔥
Keep creating work like this and your realism skills will grow very quickly.5-

Nicely done Edit. I like it very much. I don’t notice anything wrong with your elipse. But I don’t have the eye of an expert. I’m just a beginner as well. 👍
