1st piece in 25 years!
Hello fellow artists!
Inspiration from Ali brought me back to drawing! Really looking forward to growing my skills & seeing how much I can progress.
This is my 1st piece in 25 years! I pushed far past any previous perceived limitations & really stepped out of my comfort zone for this. I welcome any thoughts, positive or critiques for improvement.

Very nice looking. You’ve definitely been drawing before. Even if you did it 25 years ago. I guess it’s like biking. You never forget. 👍 I’m a noob btw. Great Job. 😉

Wow, after 25 years away from drawing, that’s a fantastic start! 😊
I actually think you made a smart choice by drawing a different eye instead of just following the tutorial reference. That shows you’re trying to understand the techniques rather than simply copy them. The iris detail looks great, the eyelashes have a nice flow, and you’ve already got some strong contrast working. If I had to suggest one thing, I’d focus on pushing the darkest darks a little more and making some of the skin transitions softer.
Most importantly, the eye feels alive, and that’s not easy to achieve. Please keep sharing your work. I love seeing this kind of progress, and don’t worry, I’ll go easy on you… at least for the next drawing! 😄 -
