Good looking ear Masa. I think softening the outside edge of the ear would be beneficial. Welcome to AHRStudios.

Will do ! I can’t wait

Hallo Maša welkom, ik heb geleerd dat je in principe geen omtrek moet tekenen, dus ik zou hier zoals Larry al zegt de omtrek van het oor vervagen!

Hi LoLoLoVo 😊
Nice eye test. The iris and highlight look good.
Focus on three quick fixes.
Lashes need more variation and softer flicks.
Add a stronger shadow under the upper lid.
Darken the outer iris and keep the center softer.
Try a quick lash practice on the side. It will help a lot 👍1- View 1 reply

Hey 😊
Great to see you started with AHR Studios, and nice variety here.
You’re doing well with shapes and basic shading, especially the eye and landscape mood. That’s a strong start.
One key focus now. Push your contrast more. Add darker darks at the end and keep your lights clean. This will instantly make everything pop. Also try to keep… Read more1- View 1 reply

Well Guys this is my biggest challenge, don’t flatter me. tell me how I did. Sir Ali, what do you think?

Nou Ashok, dit heb je heel goed gedaan! 👍🏼

Hi Jit
Your cherries and leaves seem to be drawn very well. I think it would be well to darken the cherries, leaves and shadows. This would give stronger values and more contrast.
I did the cherry exercise and I used a “Primo Elite Grande Organic Black #5000” to darken them an it seemed to do well and made them really stand out. Below is a picture of them.

Good proportions in the drawing. Yes I think Larry is right. Using some darker values will really make the shiny light portions pop.
-
Thanks Guys for your kind input, it was well received.
-
Hi Ashok 😊
I like that you’re pushing yourself here, and overall this is a strong attempt.
What’s working well is the form and shine on the cherries. You’ve understood reflections nicely, and the leaf texture is handled with good control.
Now the honest part. Your values need a bit more depth. The darkest darks are not strong enough yet, so… Read more - View more comments

Studio Community 6 months agoDo you know her?
This was also hard to draw Could you please tell me my mistakes so that I can learn what I did wrong? Thank you in advance.
Best regards,
Martin

It’s immediately recognizable as Emma Watson; great job! I think there are some issues with certain facial proportions, for example, the forehead area seems too wide compared to the rest of the face, and there’s a disproportionate size to both eyes. I think the grid technique is incredibly useful; it allows you to achieve the proportions…

Can you post your reference picture along side your drawing? That will make it easy to see where the difference is.

Hi Martin
You might check out the exercises on the “Pencil Drawing Masterclass” in the Academy. There is an exercise on Drawing Hair and also the Final Portrait exercise, which is excellent for proportions, shading and facial details.
I hope this is helpful for you.

Studio Community 6 months agoJust started drawing for a couple of weeks now.
Giving beginner drawings a try from the library.
It’s definitely not easy starting from scratch, but I’m doing my best to keep going.
I’m following the basic graphite course and challenging myself with each drawing from the library.
All feedback is welcome, as I’m completely new to this.
Just a few weeks ago, I had never held a pencil like this before.-
Goed begin, vooral de kat met vlinder, moet nog wel verder uitgewerkt worden dmv schaduwen!

Great start! Keep it up.

Hi Frederic
Welcome to AHRStudios community. Your drawings are amazing for just starting to draw two weeks ago. Ali’s art instructions will teach you to be a great artist if that is what you want to do. You came to the right place

Welcome to the community Frédéric 😊
And honestly, for just a couple of weeks, this is really impressive. I can see you’re putting in real effort and following the process properly. That’s the most important part at this stage 👍 The butterfly and cat piece is very nicely observed, especially the shapes and contrast. The rose study shows… Read more
