Not very happy with the can lid but I have tried to fix so many times. It looks ok overall
Pencils: Mars Lumograph black 100B – quite scratchy and noisy, but feels nice to draw with
Paper: cheap paper from homeware store (160gsm but feels a bit rough, hard to erase. Erasing picks up the paper materials)
Note: Got the languo erasers “Painting…Christine, Annetje and 17 others16 CommentsView more comments-

Ja ziet er heel realistisch uit!👍🏼

Stunning. Your lid is perfect also. Well done. I will check out the languo erasers. Thank you for the suggestion.

Cheryl, I think this turned out really well!
Crushed cans are surprisingly challenging because every reflection changes with each dent, but you’ve captured the metallic look beautifully. Don’t be too hard on yourself. The reflections, contrast, and overall form all work very well together.
And thank you for sharing your thoughts on the paper… Read more1 - View more comments

Graphite and pastel chalk mixed-media artwork. The circular patterns were created using stencils: highlights were lifted from the dark areas with an eraser, while graphite was brushed onto the lighter sections. The colored tones were built up from finely scraped pastel dust applied with a brush.

Incredibly expressive piece. The emotion comes through so clearly, well done! 👏

Gewéldig gedaan 👏

Edit, this is such a powerful piece. 😊 The emotion comes through immediately, and I really like how you’ve combined graphite with pastel to create something unique. The circular patterns add a strong sense of movement without distracting from the expression, and your explanation of the process is just as interesting as the… Read more

Samar, this is a beautiful portrait! 😊 You should be really proud of this one. The likeness is strong, the hair flows naturally, and the soft shading gives the portrait a warm, lifelike feel. I’m sure it will make a wonderful gift.

I cant help you with the eraser question but wanted to say i love the cat. Especially the eyes.

It will get better with practice but i see a lot of beautiful white hair in your drawing , looking natural and realistic, specially in the face it’s really good

It looks nice. I’d say just practice. My eraser skill is still not perfect but learning more each time I do a tutorial. Could you describe the exact problem. Why is it “hard to control”? I find it hard in the beginning and I find I have to hold it with a bit of force to make it steady compared to non electric like mono zero type

Hi Ashok, your cat drawing looks very good. My advice on learning to get good results with the elect eraser and also the mono zero eraser is practice, practice, practice.
Brush some graphite powder onto a blank sheet of drawing paper and start practicing. You can use the flat sharp edge to make very fine lines or you can sharpen the eraser to…

Hi Ashok! First of all, your cat is looking really nice. The soft fur and gentle shading give it a lovely appearance. I do think the overall drawing is a little light, so don’t be afraid to push the darker values a bit more to increase the contrast.
As for the electric eraser, don’t worry. It takes a bit of practice to control. Try holding… Read more1- View 1 reply

Studio Community 4 months agoHallo allemaal,
I am so sorry for your loss. He looks like such a beautiful dog. This is a wonderful drawing. Maybe drawing him again could assist in the grieving process. I wish you all the best in this process of grief. I love my animals also. They are part of the family. 🐶❤️

Hi Annemie, you did a beautiful job of drawing the portrait of your dog. It is apparent to me that you had 13 wonderful years of good times with him. That is how good memories are made.
