Hi Anthony,

Wow, after 25 years away from drawing, that’s a fantastic start! 😊
I actually think you made a smart choice by drawing a different eye instead of just following the tutorial reference. That shows you’re trying to understand the techniques rather than simply copy them. The iris detail looks great, the eyelashes have a nice flow,… Read more

Juanita, don’t be too hard on yourself. 😊
What I like most is that you can already see where you want to improve. That’s a huge part of the learning process. The eye is looking good, and the tear effect is clearly readable, which is often the hardest part. Every challenge teaches us something new, and you’ve taken another step forward with… Read more

Kim, I love the concept behind this piece.
Taking a break from textures clearly didn’t mean taking a break from creativity. The cracked surface effect works really well as a visual metaphor, and the expression gives the drawing a thoughtful, emotional feel. What stands out most to me is that this feels personal. It tells a story, and… Read more

Stanis, this is a very solid piece. 😊

The metal reflections are looking great, and you’ve done a nice job separating the different values throughout the lantern.
