Anastasia, what a beautiful way to measure your progress. The first drawing already had a good foundation, but the newer one has much stronger value control, sharper details, and a more confident likeness. You can really see how your observation skills have developed.

Anastasia, this is a great drawing. You have captured a time and place in this weathered old man’s life. The eyes, the wrinkles, the beard, the turbin, the contrasting shading and the background are all excellent and work very well together. 👍😊

Hey artists! After about 20 hours, I finally finished this drawing. I honestly think you’re being too hard on yourself. For a first piece at this size, it’s an outstanding achievement. The level of realism is impressive, especially the skin tones, and the wet, melting effect flowing over the face. Great drawing. The one on the right, the cheeks and chin looks a bit wider. Both are good in their own way. Left drawing proportions are spot on. Right drawing has great details in the skin texture.

Hi Anastasia, I am assuming that the drawing on the left is your new drawing. I think you have made great progress on your proportions. I do feel that the skin color on the face could be a little lighter and with a little brighter highlights. 😊
